Alexander Duessen Park
If you’re hoping to get some exercise in, there are some great jogging trails in the park that offer beautiful views of nature and the lake. Enjoy a picnic in the water gazebo or at one of the picnic areas or pavilions. Along the southern edge of Lake Houston on Sonnier Street, you’ll find Alexander Duessen Park. It’s open all year except for major holidays. In the summer, you can enjoy this park from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. During the winter, it closes a bit earlier at 7 p.m. If you’re looking to get out on the water for some fishing, canoeing, or kayaking, there’s an easy access boat ramp. Young ones will enjoy the duck pond, playgrounds, and multipurpose fields.
The Clubs of Kingwood Park
Located in the northern border of the lake is a golf course, The Clubs of Kingwood. Which also offers a beautiful waterpark. People of all ages can enjoy time here with an adult pool area, a lazy river, a family pool, a Big Kahuna water slide with a landing post, and a splash pad for little ones. You can have lunch at the Kingwood Deli, which offers full breakfast and lunch menus and both adult and non-adult beverages. Locker rooms and towels service are available for your convenience, and you can even bring your next big party here for a celebration.
Dwight D. Eisenhower Park
On the southern border of the lake, you’ll find Dwight D. Eisenhower Park. Covering 682 acres of land, this park offers even more opportunities to get into nature and enjoy the scenery. Thanks to the 0.5-mile nature trail and a 10-acre fish pond, the adventurer in you will have plenty to enjoy year-round. The park opens at 7 a.m. each day, and it closes at 7 p.m. throughout the summer and at 5 p.m. during the winter.
